The basic motives behind the success of Photovoltaic (PV) generation of electricity in Europe is the adoption of the major countries promoting renewable energies of a Feed in Tariff (FIT) regulatory environment as opposed to the Tax Credit scenario in other developed countries.
As one can see by the average yearly solar irradiance in Europe, Spain is by far the country that receives the highest kW/m2 per year and together with the FIT climate makes it probably the ideal location for developing PV power plants.
